Jojonia was established in 2026 by a group of citizens with too much free time and not enough to lose. The founding document, known informally as the Oath of Potatoes, was drafted in a single evening and has since been revised four times. Three of those revisions were accidental.
The nation experienced its first crisis in its inaugural week when a citizen applied for a driver's licence and received a restraining order and a marriage certificate. The Ministry issued a formal apology and then another restraining order for good measure.
